PETG – Vivak
PETG is the amorphous (clear) version of PET. PETG has good transparency, and the combination of mechanical, thermal and electrical properties means that PETG can be used very widely.
Applications
PETG semi-finished products are produced by extrusion into sheets. PETG is easy to thermoform and hot-bend, which makes the range of applications very diverse. Including for machine guarding, displays, bicycle helmets, etc. The material is FDA-approved and can therefore be used for food containers. PETG can also be bonded, welded and punched. As standard, PETG is not particularly UV-stable, so if it is to be used outdoors, the UV-protected version is recommended.

Max. service temperature is approx. 65°C in both wet and dry environments. PETG can be thermoformed without pre-drying at temperatures of 130–160°C. The material emits no environmentally harmful substances when incinerated. PETG has high impact strength, but is quite notch-sensitive. The material can be cold-bent up to 2 mm thickness (3+4 mm with a large radius).
