PVC – Polyvinyl chloride
PVC is one of the oldest plastic materials in existence and is available in many different types and grades. The material was previously used very widely, including for packaging, but may no longer be used in contact with food, and waste must be sent for destruction. Due to its good chemical resistance, PVC is often used for tanks, pipes and similar applications in the chemical and food industries. The engineering industry often uses PVC where there is no wear. It is also used for ventilation ducts, guarding, enclosures and other vacuum-formed items. The signage industry uses PVC sheets, which in foamed form are also UV-stable.

As a semi-finished product, PVC is primarily known as bars, sheets (coloured and clear) and pipes. But also in plasticised form as strips and swing-door strip curtains. Sheets are available in several grades: standard impact-resistant, extra impact-resistant (also suitable for thermoforming), and foamed.

Applications (swing-door strip curtains)
Clear plasticised PVC is used as a barrier against draughts and cold/heat at gates and doors, often in connection with cold and freezer rooms. Clear plasticised PVC, PVC Flex, is mainly used as strips in 200/300/400 mm widths, allowing people, forklifts and similar to pass through. Also available as swing-door strip curtains in wide rolls.
