TECHNICAL PROCESSING
Technical Precision
At OTV, we are specialists in plastics and plastic processing. This also includes technical processing such as bending, welding and bonding of plastic components. Within this niche, our broad knowledge and many years of experience ensure that we manufacture plastic components with precision and high quality.
Applications
Technical processing is used when the properties of the plastic component are to be preserved.
Bending, bonding and welding are all manual processes that require great precision. Bonding and welding are used to assemble products where the alternative is to bend the plastic component.
Advantages of Technical Processing
Custom-made, high-quality plastic components
Individual processing method – depending on the component
High precision and consistent plastic components
Customer-specific special components
Technical Processing
A brief look into the many technical processing options we offer at OTV.
Bending
We have many years of expertise in bending and carry out both cold bending and hot bending to a high standard. Which method is used depends on the material and the purpose of the plastic component. Bending gives the plastic component a lasting change of shape and is therefore often used for, among other things, guards and shielding.
Welding
If you want a strong construction with tight joints and a smooth surface, it may be advantageous to weld the plastic components together. There are several welding methods, such as hot-air welding and extrusion welding. However, not all plastic types can withstand welding. We advise you every step of the way.
Bonding
Bonding is primarily carried out when there is a desire not to make a mechanical intervention that affects the component’s appearance. With bonding, an attractive result can be achieved. However, not all plastic types are suitable for bonding. The process prior to bonding plastics is also more time-consuming, as the component must be completely free of both dirt and oil. Whether your plastic component requires bonding is something we know all about. Please feel free to ask us for advice.
Bending / Bonding / Welding
Here you will find a guideline overview of which plastic types can be bent, bonded or welded.
The table below is for guidance only and should be viewed as general possibilities. Contact us for an assessment of specific tasks.
For hot bending of material over 5 mm, this is pre-processed (a groove is milled).

| Hot bending max. sheet length (mm) | 2200 | 2200 | 2200 | 2200 | 2200 | 2200 |
| Hot bending max. sheet thickness (mm) | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 |
